My RC plane(firebird outlaw) is stuck in a very dense tree, it is stuck near the center, I can barely see it. I have tried a fishing rod with a light sinker, no luck. Any way I can save it? The battery is still connected, it has been 24hrs already, is the battery going to die? Also, if the fishing rod is a bad idea, what other options do I have?

Your battery will be fine, just drained (which is a good thing for nicds but i suspect it's Ni-Mh either way no bid deal just charge it). Anyway if you can't get it down by your own means climbing the tree knocking it down or waiting for the wind to blow it down, then just buy a new one the rental price for a cherry picker/ scissor lift will be more than the plane.

window washers have extendable poles that screw together, which could be used to retrieve it. If you want something cheaper, then buy about 6 lengths of 10' 1/2 inch PVC pipe, and the fittings, and you can put them together to reach that high. You'll still be paying money, but you can save the pipes for later use for other things. Probably cost you about $40-50 in parts. Or maybe you can find a volunteer fire dept. with nothing to do, that would help you, if they're not too far away. Good luck!

Depending on the tree, you may be able to simply climb up and get it down or you may have to get a ladder or something to get it down with. Keep in mind that if you're getting something like a cherry picker that the rental prices may be fairly high. I believe rental places do rent ladders that should go to about fifty feet or more, for less than something like a cherry picker but still not going to be terribly cheap. Also the fire department may be willing to get it down for you, but then again they may not consider it an emergency unless the plane could prove a fire hazard. And they could charge you a lot more than you want to pay, or they could do it for free.

Call the fire department, and tell them your "kittys" stuck in the tree. No, just kidding... use a fishing rod with a really heavy wait.

You could try bumping it with another plane. Or renting a cherry-picker. I don't know how much these planes cost.

Throw a rock at it and catch the plan when it falls.
