The same as "that" life. But it stands for something entirely different than "the other" life. Once we dispense with this, that and the other, however, I'd be interested in knowing exactly what you are asking? If you're trying to come up with a reason life exists at all, let me know when you get an answer. If you are looking at what specific lives should "stand for", in other words, what values those lives represent, then the answer depends on the life. Oscar Wilde stood for Freedom and Expression and the fact that the road of excess can lead to the palace of wisdom (W.Blake). On the other hand Ghandi stood for non-violent social revolution. Many other stand for violent social revolution. What do you stand for? What values do you hold dear, what truths would you like to embody?

You have to decide that. Life has a different meaning for everyone. You can feel that it stands for happiness one moment and the next you feel it stands for sadness. Your feeling toward life can change according to your feelings. There is no certain thing that life stands for. It is you that stands for life. No one can tell you what life stands for except that it is your life. You are your life. That is what life stands for: YOU. Your decisions, your life.

It stands for whatever you make it stand for.
End of the day as cliched as it sounds, it is what you make it.
Life for me is all about living it the best way i know how without stepping on other people to enjoy it and get somewhere.
I want to accomplish all i set out to do and make sure that i make others feel like they have a purpose as well and remind them of that when they lose their way and thats why i am studying Psychology.
