I had wanted to quit at one time, and
you were one of my friends that actually
convinced me to stay.
I would be truly saddened if a friend
were to leave. Too many are going !
We need to stick together, and defeat
the rude and obnoxious on here !
Hugs,

I would do everything I could to convince the person to stay. However, if he or she needed to quit for a really good reason, I'd try not to make it difficult, but set up some other way we could keep in touch.

I'd say that it was entirely up to them. If they want to miss out on the chance to ask and answer lots of random questions on a daily basis, that is their loss. All you can do is support them when they get the inevitable withdrawal symptoms and perhaps in the future help them to set up a new account.

*sigh* It's happened more times than I can even count. Of course begging is worth a try. But I think people leave for so many various reasons. The best you can do is write them a letter and let them know what they meant to you on here..... how they touched you...... and the effect that it will leave with you always. If you matter and they know they matter to you...... you won't lose them. If it was meant to be..... it will. If they were meant to move on... they will. Regardless...... it just hurts so badly. *sigh*

Massage their ego by telling them that their expertise was clearly needed to deal with so many unresolved questions. .......and maybe give them some tea & tiffin aswell.
