1) Hulk Hogan - without the stupid "Hollywood" gimmick invented by WCW. He's not the best wrestler, but nobody works the mic like him and nobody captivates a crowd like him - never has, never will.
2) The Rock - he was fun to watch, a close second to the Hulkster. He captivated a crowd nearly as well. He was like Hogan in that he had a setup move to his finisher which drove the crowd wild. He was a true entertainer, too bad he went to movies, he'd still be at the top of his game.
3) "Macho Man" Randy Savage - one of the most skilled wrestlers ever. His match with Ricky Steamboat was awesome. His mere prescence made a match good. When he was a heel you hated him, when he was a face you loved him - there was never an in-between. It was a shame he did the NWO thing, he never was good in an ensemble. He should have always stayed as hid own guy.
4) Ric Flair - you don't last 30 years and suck as a wrestler. Not a high-flier, not a power wrestler, he has a style all his own. He's a legend, like it or not. Its too bad he spent most of his career in the small time promotions, he would have been an excellent WWE main-eventer in the 70's and 80's. He was a big fish in a small pond forever, but many good feuds came out of it.
5) Stone Cold - I didn't like him at first, but it was his character that changed wrestling into what it is today. To be honest, I don't like what wrestling is today, but if you do, you can thank him for it. He also is a real crowd captivator and works a mic well. Good character nonetheless.
6) Bret Hart - one of my personal favorites. Not the most entertaining wrestlers to watch, but one of the most likeable. The Hart Foundation is one of the best tag-teams ever, and Bret was probably the reason for it.
7) Goldberg - the WWE missed the boat on this guy. He could have been the next Hogan, but Vince as always screwed it up. He was not the most agile, but definitely had the crowd in the palm of his hand. I'd make him #2 or even #1 if Vince hadn't blown it.
8) HHH - he's not very well liked in wrestling circles, but he is (or was) an excellent heel. He was so easy to hate, but you still wanted to see what he would do next. He's an OK face, but he should remain a heel, he's better that way.
9) The Undertaker - his size and character are what carried him. Very agile for his size, nothing special on the mic. I liked him, but his ability to change with the times is what kept him in the game.
10) Sting - excellent wrestler, I always admired his resistance to Vince McMahon. He could have been bigger than Hogan, but he was happy where he was. 'The Crow' persona he adopted later on I think ruined the character.
11) Kurt Angle - a great heel and a great wrestler, but I never understood where the WWE was going with him. A heel one minute and a face the next, make up your mind. Blame the WWE for this one.
12) Chris Benoit - fun wrestler to watch, crap on the mic. Not overly entertaining except to the most staunch wrestling purest. He kept old time pro wrestling around as everyone else was changing with the times.
13) Ultimate Warrior - one dimensional, never likeable. He's only this high because he was promoted so heavily and he had alot of fans.
14) Lex Luger - an example of someone who blew it for himself, not the WWE. He was slated to be Hogan's replacement as the next superstar, but he blew it and Bret Hart got it instead. He would have been a good replacement too with the whole "American Hero" thing, but he couldn't keep his mouth shut and he is where he is not thanks to Lex Luger (or Larry Pfohl, however you want to see it).
15) RVD - another excellent wrestler - very underutilized. Should have been the next Macho Man, but never quite got to that level.
16) HBK - not likeable as a face or heel, I'll give him that he was always willing to put his health on the line for the show. I never thought his mic skills were exceptional and I never thought he deserved all the attention he got, but at least he's better than the guys below him.
17) Chris Jericho - good on the mic, nothing special in the ring.
18) Big Poppa Pump - average on the mic, an ok wrestler. He was best with his brother, he never really went over on me as a solo.
19) Kevin Nash - he's big, Diesel was OK. Not much more to say, just kinda there.
20) Scott Hall - I never really got what was so great about this guy. Razor Ramone was a mediocre character and he rode on the backs of his NWO cohorts. Nothing special.
