Nicole Ritche, Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Britney Spears, and recently...Mischa Barton have all partaken in either booze, drugs, or both.

What is so appealing about getting wasted on drugs and alcohol anyway when you're so young? My take is that some young celebs have a "God" complex, thinking that they can get away with what they can since they're young or living life to the fullest. It can also be genetics; someone in their family might have a history of drug/alcohol abuse.

It will only be a matter of time when any of these individuals wind up like Anna Nicole Smith. I don't know; it just disgusts me that these people throw away promising careers for drugs, booze, and sex.

What's your take on this? Do you agree with me?

100 % definitely Agree,

With Lindsey's last debacle, I'm afraid that Hollywired will
be mourning her ..within the next 90 day's ..

For GOD'S sake ( and your health ) ..Wake the hell up !!!

With Ms.Lohan it's genetics, and I feel sorry for the person she hurts next ( Rehab won't work, unless YOU want it to )

For Britney, she needs her *** whipped, she is a MOTHER FIRST ..your partin day's ended with the name Federline )

Paris : needed a wake-up call, and to a certain extent ..she's getting it on Monday ( To bad they didn't " Cell Her " with a Crips or Bloods Property Woman )

Anyways, i praying that the NEW breed of teen stars will NOT follow in their footsteps ...

It could plain old boredom. Think about it....they don't have a '9 to 5' job, they buy whatever they want, and your right about the god complex. These peolpe are looked upon as superior to the 'other' people. They also cannot go anywhere without a camera sticking in their face. After a while, I'm sure they percieve their lives as boring. Look what happened to Elvis! He died on a toilet, full of drugs.

To a much lesser degree, I know what they are going through. I was a theater major in college. When you are performing there is an incredible high that it gives you. Add in applause, and it is a high that can't be topped. What they are trying to do is keep that high going as long as they can by any means possible. Some kids (and that's what they really are, is kids) just can't tell the difference between natural high and drugs. It is very sad that they are ruining their lives like this. What is even sadder is that we as a society still endorse them by keeping tabs on their exploits.

well is not so much BECAUSE they HAPPEN to be celebrities. they're young people some of them not even 25 years old. and that's what most young people do they get drunk and do drugs, is called experimenting. the only problem is that these girls are in the public eye and that's why we hear so much about their drug use and drinking problems.
some young people as they become older they settle down and some don't that's all.

I agree with you that celebrities think they are "invincible." Celebrities have little to no boundaries in their life and they view it as being able to do anything they want to without facing any consequences that comes with it.

It's really pathetic they don't have "real" people who actually care about them, aside from their status, and are willing to speak out to them when they are on the verge of doing something regretful.

I think they're under so much stress and scrutiny that they just want to forget it all. They believe partying, drinking and drugging themselves up will help them 'forget it all' for a moment but it just makes things worse.
