I bought my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li1705 Laptop 2 weeks ago. The problem is that 2days ago it started cutting off the internet and saying connection lost But my desktop pc in the same room was fine. After a few more blips i system restored and reinstalled all the drivers. Know when i try to connect to my wireless network it doesnt ask for a wepkey even though its a password protected network?? Also when im connected it said for limited time? Also It has now finally cut off and it said connection timed out. How do I fix this?
Answers are appreciated Thanks A7JDW

It sounds like you have something configured in the router to time out this unit. Check the router config for your unit and check out the wireless adapter on the laptop - could be something there.

Go into Control Panel

Choose Network Connections

Right click on Wireless connections

Click View available networks

Click on "advanced settings to the left - A box will pop up

Click o nthe "wireless networks" tab

You should see your wireless device in a box below - click it once to highlight it and click the "properties button"

This will open another box. If there is a tick box with "key is provided automatically" next to it. If its ticked, remove it. This will let you enter your WEP key in the boxes above. Make sure that the two little boxes above where you enter your key read "Ooen" and "WEP"

Apply and ok everything and see if it helps. If your using WPA make the changes in the boxes above where you enter your key so instead of "open" and "wep" you choose wpa etc.
