I'd say no, however "when the Red Sox sweep the Yankees" is a major assumption that shouldn't be made either. Joe Torre has been one of the best skippers in baseball for years and I dont imagine him being canned, we all know how the season is going to play out, the Yankees WILL get hot and they WILL make the playoffs, they have way to much talent on that team not to. I think the Sox are going to win the division but the Yankees will be right behind them, and this is coming from a Red Sox fan, I just respect what the Yankees are capable of. If a sweep were to occur, look for Brian Cashman to be the first to leave but dont expect and move on Joe Torre's part except maybe a resignation if things get really bad.

The Big Stein has made it clear the Cashman is "on the hook" for what goes on right now. That being said, Cashman will probably be the first to be let go. After that, if things don't improve by the 4th of July (or maybe as long as the All Star break) Joe might be gone. Stein has been touting Mattingly of late and that can never be good for the current manager. While none of this is Joe's fault, as they say, you can't fire the whole team. Joe certainly didn't get stupid overnight. His track record with the Yankees is outstanding and he deserves to at least finish out the year. But this IS the Yankees and we all know the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" mentality the permeates the club.

The crimson Sox in basic terms ought to take 2 out of three this weekend. of direction a sweep via the crimson Sox could be positive by using fact then the Yankees could the two be seventy one/2 or 80 one/2 out counting on the end results of the yank-Blue Jays interest this evening.

I don't believe that either of your statements will occur, the Red Sox won't sweep the Yankees this weekend and Torre isn't going anywhere,

No, but if the Yankees do not win 2 of 3 or sweep the Red Sox, they are DONE. And I Hate to say that as a Yankee fan...

Imo, Mussina shouldn't pitch, Clemens should because Mussina can't pitch against boston anymore

You seem to neglect all the AL East Championships they've won, while Torre has been the Manager. Not to Mention the World Series Wins. Wait a minute.....how many World Series have the Red Sox won since1996?

It's an old saying that "you can't fire the players" but dumping Torre won't really make a lot of difference. He's not the one failing to execute.

Fire him, keep him, it makes little difference, all it would accomplish is (a) very temporarily soothe the barking madness of the Yankees fans and (b) get a head-start on the 2008 rebuild.

Replacing Joe Torre isn't going to help that bull pen pitch any better. It's not Joes' fault at all.

Their mid-relief group need to step up and pitch better period.
