Many people believe that God is not a tangible thing, and that therefore God does not exist. This view invokes a very narrow definition of existence. God is an idea. The belief in God is real for many people. Therefore God exists, in the same way that beauty, virtue, honesty, charity, hunger, thirst, etc. exist. These things are intangible, but who would deny that they exist? People have a belief in God. The belief exists. The belief governs their life and personality and actions. Amen.

Science cannot prove that god exists, or that god doesn't exist. After all, science works by examining the best available evidence, formulating a hypothesis, and then devising tests to determine whether the hypothesis can be proven false. If repeated rigorous testing fails to prove it false, then is called a "theory" and is generally accepted as true, although new evidence may always change that.

The concept of "falsifiability" is central to the scientific method. Basically, it means that a theory cannot be considered scientific if there's no conceivable experiment that could prove it false if the results turned out a certain way.

The theory of gravity is easily testable: if I drop a rock and it doesn't fall, then my experiment proves that the theory is false.

The god-hypothesis, however, is not testable. Thus far, nobody has come up with an experiment that, if it turned out a certain way, would disprove the existence of god.

As is, science cannot establish that god exists, or that god doesn't exist. There simply aren't any experiments that would prove or disprove the god-hypothesis.

Presently, there is no scientific consensus on God. There is not even a consensus that science can deal with the question.

One of the first things you must learn about science is that it employs what is called methodological naturalism - that is, it assumes that there are no 'supernatural' phenomena. This does not mean that it assumes that God, or even ghosts, do not exist; this means that it assumes they operate under laws in the same sense that electrons do. Given that many people believe that gods *are* supernatural, this would mean that science can say nothing about them.

That said, there are many people (including some scientists) who hold to metaphysical naturalism (sometimes referred to as ontological or philosophical naturalism). In such a worldview, it is clear that, unless God is completely absent, science can tell us what God is like (or whether God exists at all). However, as I previously mentioned, no consensus exists.

So, to answer your question briefly: scientists can tell you as much about God as anyone else, and disagree about God as much as everyone else.

There is nothing out there to show that there is a an old man with a grey beard looking down on us, waiting for us to miss a sunday at church so he can strike us down...

However, this does not mean that there is not room for God in Science. There are numbers of scientific theories that show that there are possibly as many as 18 different dimensions. It is also possible for us to change the predictability of a particle of matter by simply having the POTENTIAL to interact with it it... Very interesting stuff in the field of quantum science.

Men of science and knowlege have been very descriptive concerning our Creator many times in the past and our greatest scientists have been firm Belivers.
Scientific method was used directly by experimentation by Galileo.
It a good method to discover reality and it goes hand in hand in science as well as Faith.

As the Holy Bible mentions to make an experiment with God.
It says= test and see that the Lord is good. This is an experiment! So far every one that has done the test have not been disappointed. The results are always there.
Jesus said; Come unto me and I will give you rest(peace).

Science can tell you nothing about God because science is about natural explanations and God is a supernatural concept. Individual scientists can tell you all sorts of things about what they do or don't believe, but there is no scientific validity to any of it.

it all makes sense now. there were two paths in life. #1, harmony. #2 knowledge. god didn't want us to eat from the tree of knowledge because he knew we were going to get smart and then make other beliefes and theories like we have now. if adam and eve didn't eat from the tree of knowledge, god wouldn't have punished us by getting disease, sin, murder, steal, war, ect. and if god didn't figure out, which he still would, we would still be where we are today, but we wouldn't be sick, murdering, sinning, stealing, war, ect. if we didn't eat from the tree of knowledge, we would be the same, maybe smarter, but almost the same. there would be peace, harmony, perfect life.

jesus REPEATLY states in the new testament that ALL prayers are answered. NOT some prayers, NOT most prayers, but ALL prayers will be answered by believers who ask in his name. So the christian concept of god the father god the son god the holy ghost, the holy trinity, is VERY easily tested, all you have to do, if your a follower of christ is pray that i will convert to christianity if you pray that i "see the light" and convert. If hundreds or thousands of you on here pray to jesus that i convert and suddenly become a follower of christ then that god trinity must exist. if you all pray that i convert and i fail to become a follower of christ then obviously jesus is not god and god does not answer prayers.
