im actually the BRANCH that eventually spawn flowers..
if the year was blessed for my good condition
the flowers may grow to become fruits...
& my fruits would never be seasonal..
it's perennial... you can partake to its harvest anytime you need to.

& hopefully, when my fruit nourished you...
youll learn to plant the seed for others to nurture & be tasted..
& not just selfishly trow it away & let be decayed & be useless.

Your question sounds like it comes from Confucius' Analects. At one time I was the leaves, blown about and changing. As I took a wife, I also took root and became the trunk and then the branch. Now with my children grown and grandchildren, I am the roots, fixed and constant. These are more nature than nurture, although there have been other hands which have tended, pruned, and supported. I am part of all, and all is part of me.

Think of it this way: If there were no roots, there would be no trunk, if no trunk, no branches, & so on. As all are essential--to the tips of the leaves--I may be different "parts" at different times. I hope that I am.

I am the roots, extremely important, but often unnoticed. As far as nature or nurture is concerned, I'm a firm beliver that it's both.

Great one!

I think I am all of it....it's all needed...each part is a part of the whole...all plays it's part...

...the roots(essence or soul)...that something deeper with much depth....unseen by the eye, but it is the source of creativity, it is what grounds us in love, a well-spring of love--there when we tune in to it.....merge with it..

....the trunk(maybe that's our body)...necessary to live n experience life on this plane....

....branches(our feelers in the outside world) our growth...growing high, and reaching out to others.....

....the leaves(our joy) leaves, our part that delights in being so high...feeling the sun, and dancing in the wind....our beauty..vibrant colors to share...

Maybe it's nature that made me this way.

Erhm, not sure I really answered ur question, tho! lolz. Went off on a tangent. Big surprise. haha

Nature gives us talents (aka potential), but it is nurture that lets us develop it.

A rose will never grow into a big tree, but a tree will never grow as tall in the shade, nor will the rose bud bloom if not nurtured.

In general, I believe 99% of who we are, is out of our own control, and 'free' choice is only relative to our options and our conscioussness. For both of them, we depend on our environment.

The same child that grew up in one place and ended up a criminal in jail, could end up being a hero, and make the world a better place in a different environment.

Environment is everything. That is why 'individualists' falsely claim more 'freedom of choice' than there is, and their main interest to do so is to deny their own responsibility for the success or failure of others.

Most successful people, if honest, will tell you it was a lot of hard work, but most was hard luck.

Your harvest does not depend only on what you sow, but much more on how fertile the ground is. In the middle of the desert, nothing will grow no matter how much you sow, and if fertile, you can harvest maybe without having to sow anything because there will be abundance. The fertile soil is the environment you grow up in.. the most important thing is often intentionally kept out of the equation by those who blame their success on only themselves and failure of others only on others themselves.

I would say that I am a trunk. I'm always there to support my friends/family. It is mostly nature that I am like this because I have always been more of a listener.

I would say i'm the roots. I think nature made me this way because everyone around me seems to be flakey and someone has to be able to hold it all up.

As long as i'm not the sap? :)0

It's always a mix of nature and nurture, is it not?--difficult to be merely one or the other. If i had to choose being one OR the other, i'd choose nature--far less dysfunctional, eh? :).

We are all of it, but in regard to ur question, what determines what we are at a certain moment, doesnt fall on us alone, it falls on the circumstanaces around us. As a man, in need of you (a woman) and u not being there i would be just a bare branch! See what i mean!

We are whole, and yet we are not!

cheers!!;O)
