The initial red light was actually telling you that your brake fluid was probably low. You probably have a leak in your brake lines which caused your brake fluid to leak out.
You really should have taken it in to get it checked as soon as the red brake light came on. It's highly likely the brake master cylinder is now also damaged, especially if it's been pushing air.
The read brake light not only tells you about your emergency brake being still on, but is also there to let you know that there could be something wrong with your primary brake system.
You need to find the leak in your brake system, or determine how air got in the lines. The system will need to be repaired and bleed for air in the lines.
I don't advise driving it so get it towed to the nearest shop.
The emergency brake system is run on cables, not hydraulic fluid, the two systems are independent of each other and the emergency brake is there only as a last resort if your hydraulic brakes fail.

you probably got the e-brake stuck on, and the only way to release it is to take the wheels off and manually release them. The brakes will not adjust properly when it is on even a little, so you end up losing the brakes. Best to have a shop do it, you may have other problems that have occoured because of them being on.

chances are you did have your e-brake on and didnt relize it you ever notice a hot smell near the rear of your car? chances are real good you need rear brakes whether it be shoes and drums or pads and rotors which ever your car is equiped with you are also going to need new e-brake cables too since they are most likely stuck once you get all that replaced you souldnt have many more problems with wearing your rear brakes out too fast
it can cost alot depending on what all got damaged strongly suggest getting towed to shop definantly do not drive

sound like you blew a caliiper somewherein the braking sys. you may have heard a noise that sound strange. i doubt that there is any fluid left in the master cyl. you need to have it towed to a garage and let a mechanic look at it. since you know that there is a problem and if you have wreck than your insurance may not cover it. you are assuming the liabilty.

You left your emergency brake engaged and now you have no brakes left. You will need to replace your rotors and drums along with pads and shoes and turn of your emergency brake.

Go to a repair garage, no questions asked. You have an emergency repair needed. A red dash light means stop and pull over and call a tow truck as your owner's manual tells you.
