The conceptualization of these items that man has romanticised thru the years may be what these authors are referring to. In historical fact if a crucified victim was somehow strong enough to not give in and suffocate right away, then the legs would be broken to hasten the collapse of the chest cavity, and if the victim still hung on to life then after a period of time the Centurion in charge of the execution could easily command that the victims' side be pierced with a spear - collapsing a lung and bringing about a faster death. You see, crucifixion kills by suffocation - as the weight of the legs and lower body exerts more and more downward force on the chest the lungs eventually collapse. You can delay this for a short time by using your legs to push up against the pole, but you eventually tire from the effort and your legs drop again. As you continue doing this your oxygen reserves are getting smaller and smaller, so each time you can sustain your effort for shorter and shorter times, until you finally cannot lift your weight at all and your lungs slowly collapse. The Spear itself would have been made of wood and iron, and both materiels would probably not have survived - wood being subject to rot and decay, and iron being subject to corrosion and rust.
As for the Grail, at the dinner worthy of the name the Last Supper there were obviously drinking vessels there, probably supplied by the establishment, and were probably made of wood, clay, or cheap metal. The likelihood that any of these could become the Grail as some legends attest is remote, given their fragile nature. If a cup was used to catch Christ's Blood at the crucifixion, and then preserved by Joseph of Arimethea, it is still unlikely that it has survived.
In this day and age it is the concepts that are most important, not finding the actual objects.

Hi Dee. The spear of destiny was instituted in 1100 for the
purposes of making clear dynasty lines between Christian and
Hebrew cousins sacred families of the world. This was a divine
planning fruit plate of various strong supporters until Magellan.
The spear was used as a symbol of allied and cultured farm
lands approved by the Egypt, Syrian, and Chinese ambassador.

Well Mr. W.Henry is wrong.. For I wrote my thesis on that as well and traveled to the 3 European countries that claim to have the original spear. And as far as I am concern the true spear has be totally lost in history.. Or it wound up back in Africa yes Africa for the roman troops that own that spear were from Africa and Ladies and Gentleman That is an historical fact. For any spear that penetrated the side of Jesus would have some sort of magical qualities about it and would never just rust away like these spear heads are doing........ And if you also read your history books you should have read that even Hallie Selassie also mention to have seen that spear head but who listens to a Black man from Africa where the true history of man kind really began....... Also Hallie Selassie was one of the longest rulers ever know in the history of mankind............................................................ It is amazing how loped sided history really is when it comes to the true nature of things that are recorded but never taught to give this world a better and a more even insight into the history of this world and how all men played and important in the molding of this world...........................................................................

I believe Billy Bob. If issues make us have self belief then it is the flaws we've self belief in, no longer a certainty. If I settle for Jesus died on a pass (I do) and that the tale of his death as advised interior the gospels is largely precise interior the element of his death (I do) then the spear is a given. besides the incontrovertible fact that, in simple terms as a results of fact an merchandise as quickly as existed does not make it magical or particular. finally faith is what we are keen to have self belief the place we don't call for data. whilst it includes data interior the sphere of religion there's a regulation of diminishing return. data that replaced into sufficient at one time will become inadequate. over the years the value of such data degrades and we call for greater. An daily miracle is no longer often a miracle in any respect (is it?). i'm continuously astonished that I exist. previous that's probable hypothesis and extremely just about easily faith.

No, It was the "Sphere" of destiny. The Holy Grail is actually; "The Holy Grey L." People are so gullible to believe these old stories that were made up and sold like old tabloid RAGS.Yeeesh.

I think everyone is entitled to an opinion. I think the bible is more of a history book than it is a "gospel." I think it was written by men and therefore subject to interpretation. And I think that The DaVinci Code is meant solely as a work of fiction, based upon a few scattered facts, and has earned the man a nice chunk of change.

Ivan, is close, since Dan Brown suggests the cup represents the vagina then the spear must be a phallic symbol
