Someone help me with this PSP/USB Adaptor thing..

I have a USB Adapter that is connected with my Comcast HSI modem. So the USB Adapter is connected. It is sending out Wi-Fi signals also.

Shouldn't this substitute for a router? I mean...I took used my PSP to scan for WiFi signals and my connection popped up, but when I tried to access it, it say unable to access this access point, please check the security settings for the network and try again. I've made sure no firewall is blocking, everything is open, and its not even WAP secured. So whats going on?

I'm not trying to find out how to secure it, i'm trying to find out how to connect it. And its sharing my modem's connection.

There are different ways to protect your Router WiFi connection, WEP and WPA are the most common. But the router can also be set to only allow a certain number of connection at one time or only specific systems. So you will want to check your routers configuration to confirm the configuration.
