Alone is a physical state...being lonely is more of a mental state.

Being alone is a physical separation from other persons. ( i.e. I sent last night reading a good book and nobody else was home). Lonely is an emotion of feeling cut off or distant from other people. (i.e. She at the Bus station with hundreds of people passing her each hour but had never felt so alone. He parents had just been killed in a car accident and her boyfriend was in Iran and they hadn't talked for a week, she didn't know who she could talk to.)

Being alone is exactly that. You are on your own not surrounding yourself with others. Most of us if not all, enjoy it at some stage.

Being lonely means we miss companionship, something to bounce of emotionally or physically. A total feeling of being the only one.

I have a partner and although his right next to me, I feel lonely. Pretty sad uh?

This is how I see being alone and being lonely..... being alone is when you have not one persone with you, that you want to be with. Being lonely is an unfortunet feeling, of not having many friends or family.

A person can be alone and be fine with it. Lol, obviously being alone is being by yourself. A person can be around millions of people and be lonely. Basically (I think) it means that you feel like you have no friends or are the only person in your own situation and have to deal with it by yourself. Idk, I'm not very good at answering these kind of questions.

When you are alone, you are by yourself. You are home alone, or you go shopping alone. Lonely is how you feel. You could be in a large group of people and still feel lonely. It's feeling unaccepted and alienated.

Lonely is the need for company. Alone is without other people present.

once you're on my own you're bodily via your self with out all of us else around so which you're literally remoted from human beings bodily (like once you are the only individual at domicile) yet being lonely can take place in spite of no count while you're bodily surrounded via human beings or no longer. Loneliness is a psychological strategies-set moreso than a actual actuality. in case you experience lonely you think of no person loves you so which you refuse to open as much as others, yet you yearn for emotional closeness with others. you desire somebody you may have faith yet you haven't any longer have been on condition that individual on your existence so which you experience unhappy and lonely like no person cares for you or maybe desires to be attentive to you on any deep point.
