My bass amp is crackling at high volumes, and I've found what seems to be the problem, but I'm not sure how to fix it. I pulled the amplifier out of the cabinet and played a few notes at high volume and then pressed one of the black cylinders in the middle and the crackling ceased. If anyone knows what these parts are and how to replace them, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Black cylinder? I'm not sure what you mean by this. Maybe if I had a picture I could help you out. Modify your question with model number and I might be able to help you a little. I might be able to find some schematics online.
