no. you have to get an anti-virus program like mcafee or norton to fully remove the viruses. system restore just fixes the minor things.

Are you sure viruses are the problem?

Is there any chance your computer is just "mucked up" with a bunch of extra files and ad ware and whatever else "builds up" during use?

Have you run "Disk Clean-Up" and checked to make sure you have plenty of disk space? (Particularly C). If it looks like you have only about one-fourth space left that isn't good. Get rid of some stuff on whichever drive looks like its 75" blue or more.

Have you run "Disk Defragmenter"? If you run that you can click on "Show Details" and see exactly how messed up each disk is, as you watch Defragmenter goinging through the disk and clearing it up.

You can download free software that will scan your machine for adware and other things that shouldn't be there. A "spyware" program like Spybot will show which things are potential serious problems and which aren't (but which you probably want to get rid of anyway).

You can also clear out all your temporary Internet files (Disk
Clean-Up will give you that option when it shows what each disk has.) You may want to clear cookies too.

You can move some files (picture files, music files, word files) to a different drive if you have too many on, say, C. Its particularly important to make sure you have plenty of room on C.

I don't mean to answer questions you didn't ask, but I was thinking your machine may be mucked up with other stuff, rather than a virus.

All the System Restore does is, restore your Settings and Registry back, to a specified date in the past. If viruses are present in some form other than registry infections then, nope, a System Restore won't be quite enough. Registry infections are what viruses hope to ACCOMPLISH, not where they LIVE.
