Don't worry about it. Later on in life when you're older, you'll wish you were a cute little girl. So enjoy it while you can.

I agree with the person above and you're still young so of course people will treat you like you're young. You probably have a baby face too! I don't think I've ever heard of a "mature" teenager, because most are not. Just enjoy your situation while it lasts, trust me, you'll regret growing up too fast.

...I'm not telling you to act like a baby/child, but just don't care what people think and do as teenagers do: which is go to school, hang out with friends and have fun at parties! Also do good in school for the folks and you'll have everything set! Oh and don't get peer pressured! Be strong enough!

If you want to come across as more grown-up, definitely start thinking more for yourself and try not to always follow people around and do what they are doing.

You can still smile and win people over while you are making the plans or maybe deciding where to go - or suggesting a movie strongly that you want to all go see- or joining a club or team on your own, maybe even starting one up if you like.

Trying to be a bit more independent a little at a time is best - don;t scare yourself but just go slowly and surely. Think about what you would like to be doing, what are your dreams, and what your plans are going to be. People will still like you if you are more indiependent - in fact I think that people who are confident and independent are especially well liked, if they treat people nicely - and of course, the smile helps!

And you will feel like smiling because it can be lots of fun to be the leader sometimes!

*Alright if you want people to take you seriously then......

.*Get a job, and make your own money
.*Open up a savings account and start saving money
.*Start getting prepared for college and thinking of what you want to do with your life
.*Make sure when you get into HS that you don't screw around and you maintain at least a 3.0 GPA or higher.
.*Don't be late or absent from school
.*Be responsible
.*If you drive, be a defensive driver and avoid speeding tickets and try and keep yourself from getting into any accidents.
.*Expand your vocabulary....pick 1 word from the dictionary everyday, and memorize it's meaning...that way if you ever hear it...you'll know what people are talking about etc.
.*Expand your social circle hang out with more intellectual people
.*Have fun.

..*Those things I've listed, are just some things to help you to be taken seriously by older people.*
....Not to mention if you get a job and start saving a portion of your money, now while you're still pretty young...you can build up interest...and you'll have a wad of cash which comes in handy if your car ever breaks down or if you need some emergency money for whatever reason.
**Saving your money is a very good investment, and w/ interest building on it, you can't go wrong, and you'll be thankful you saved it later on.**

Well, don't turn into one of those stuck up teenagers that acts like everything their parents do is embarrassing and wrong. Just tell your parents that you would like to be treated a little more maturely. You will see your family more than everyone else that you see in your life. I would think that your friends don't treat you like a little girl, so just talk to your parents.

Be yourself, and do what you want to do. Smiling is always good. High school is just a step into a very sociable world. Girls who go into high school think that they need to show more skin and be popular in order to be cool. Those people who dress nice and don't care what other people think are the people everyone want to be around. They are confident, head strong, know what they want, and are nice to everyone. My thing is this when you get to high school be careful on who you choose as your friends, and never try to be like someone else.

Act more mature by doing responsible things. Maybe they just think you look like a cute little girl so they treat you like it.

People will treat you the way you present yourself.

Start taking yourself seriously....get involved with serious issues....and people will respond.

Just a note.....you have a long time to be "mature"....don't rush it.

Have a little faith in yourself. You are who you are...w/out following around other people. You can be the leader any time you want.

Growing up takes time, just don't be a goof and you'll be fine. Also, don't be too clingy...learn that being alone and independent are good qualities. People don't like clingy, controlling friends who don't have any other friends.
