Carls and Kenna swam 1500 miles apart Kenna swam 1 1/2 times as much as Carls how do u get the answer

Let x stand for the distance Kenna swam. Then 1.5x is the distance Carls swam.
1.5x+x = 1500
x = 600 miles
1.5x = 900 miles
