I really love the Ovulation calculator at Baby Center. You plug in the date of your last period, a few other details and it'll tell you when you should be at your most fertile. Check it out:

Saying you are most fertile 14 days from the first day of your last period is an over-simplification at best. If your cycles are 28 days apart that 14 day scenario might work out, might not. If your cycles are 33 days apart, the calculator will figure out the window of days you are most fertile.
Let's put it this way, sperm lives inside of you longer than that one little egg lives. So the more times you have sex the better. And if you wait for what some believe to be that Magical 14th Day, you may have missed the window of opportunity for that month. Not good.
Let us know how things go. We're a wealth of information and experiences around here!! Take care.

The timing of ovulation is complex and can take some studying of your body and your cycles to figure out. By using a combination of methods such as studying cervical fluid, taking your body temperature, and tracking your periods, you can calculate your time of ovulation. The American Pregnancy Association encourages women to learn about the fertility awareness method of tracking cycles and then combine that with ovulation predictor kits to best understand when you are ovulating. The Association estimates that this is anywhere between 11-21 days since the last menstrual period (LMP), or 12-16 days from when you expect the next menstrual period to start.

ovalation occurs 14 days before your period, and or 14 days after your period. Some women have 28 day cycles some have 30 days this is why the 14 day plan is good. Sometimes women have cramps before their period, and that is a sure way to tell that ovalation has occured. The egg is traveling. Good Luck

Yes, women are obsessed with the ovulation calendar. It's supposed to be very accurate. Go online and you'll see lots of sites that provide you with that calendar, you just have to input a couple of information.
