in some way, yes.

some of the do's and dont's in feng shui are self-explanatory and pure common sense i.e. proper placement of the stove, electrical wirings, seepage, location of the house, etc. most of these rules are precautionary measures.

there are some rules on feng shui that are somewhat between the paranormal and the psychological like; don't build a house beside an abandoned lot or on the spot where a cemetery or a hospital once built. everybody may not believe in ghosts and all sorts of energies--elementals and psychic, but would you risk encountering one? especially the negative ones? the feng shui set rules on these.

on the other hand, I am somewhat ambivalent and reluctant on the feng shui's concept of lucky charms i.e. wind chimes, the three legged frog, the corrupted icon of fat Buddha, the pawing cats, i think these are superstitious--i respect it though. there are some embellishment in feng shui which I'd rather not follow or have.

in some way, feng shui makes sense and is helpful. there's nothing wrong in observing some of the ancient rituals and sciences in our present time, we'll just have to choose which are helpful from which are not. we may improve our life only if we choose to.

I find that Feng Shui is a little minimalistic for me but I did have a decorator friend(she seemed to know what she was doing) locate my qi which was already my favorite room. I use that space as my home office and craft room. I often get more work done there than I do at work. I can't really say that I am more productive because of it.

Rick D... You disgust me. I happen to know the people you are referring to and they are both true angelic women. Don't tempt me to go into spy mode and root you out. I am trying my best to leave that behind. Why the hell would you say that? I will be watching in the future.

I don't know that much about Feng shui, but it is hard to say that 2 billion Chinese are totally wrong. There may be something to it.

I believe that it helps to have everything in order and to have your living space comfortable and clutter free but with two teenage sons, we don't really have a Feng Shui home!

yes, but not so much the direction things (like this goes south, that goes north) but more so the positioning of furniture ... like my bed used to face a mirror, and i hate it, and sure enough it said not to do that, so i switched, and i feel so much better
