It depends on the fairy tale.

Anything that people enjoy or care for, always one way or another relate to themselves in the real world.. Be it their desires, or universal concepts of good, evil, love, happiness..

They are good, only when one remains aware and conciouss of what they are. While simplification can help explain a concept, they may never be mistaken for reality.

In the end, knowing and understanding the real world is always better than fairy tales.. so, only fairy tales that assist in understanding real world are good, and those that undermine it are bad.

I can enjoy them, because they can be relaxing.. just like watching cartoons.. as long as the difference between fact and fiction remain clear.

This is true for entertainment in general.. it is good for people to relax, to recharge their batteries to be able to continue living up to their responsibilities in real life.. but as soon as being entertained becomes their goal in life itself, it's harmful.

It depends on the country you live in, I think...for my country, fairy tales have a 70 % influence on the knowledge acquisitions of 10 years old children...I do not know the influence of fairy tales on older kids...I think that fairy tales are very important for our knowledge acquisitions...they really improved my imagination and talking skills...I suppose...
