when i cleaned out his tank yesterday, i found 2 different colors of scales in the water, neither of them are his usaul color. One set was dark green transparent with dark brown edges, and the other scales were a whitish transparent with dark ivory edges.

They shed regularly, but we usually don't notice it. If it happens more often it might be a sign of either stress or overeating.

turtles normally shed the scales on thier back, it is completly normall, don't worry
