I would agree that the 49ers too are the greatest offense. But don't leave out the fact they also had a great defense unlike the 00 Rams, who just had a solid one which is why the won the most lopsided Superbowl. The Rams offense was stacked in 00. Warner, Faulk, Holt, and Bruce along with a great O-line with Timmerman, Pace, and Turley. But if you're talking about best offenses ever and not how many Superbowl rings or playoff appearences, the Colts offense a coulple years back was a great offense, they just didnt get very far in the playoffs. Manning, James, Harrison, Wayne, Stokley, and Pollard were a strong offense. They had a solid O-line with Glenn at Tackle.

1. St. Louis Rams (2000)
St. Louis Rams
St. Louis averaged 33.8 points per game in 2000, about a point more than in 1999, when the Rams were also an offensive powerhouse, and a couple more than in 2001. Those three years together guarantee the Kurt Warner-Marshall Faulk offense a permanent place in NFL history, but what makes the 2000 season stand out is that the offense did it with relatively little help from the D, which was the worst in the NFL. In their first six games, the Rams averaged 43.7 points a game. Then they were thrown for a bit of a loop when Warner missed five games with a broken pinky.
But Warner, who played only 11 games, averaged 9.9 yards per pass attempt, and his backup, Trent Green, played eight games that would have been, statistically, the envy of just about any other NFL starter. Together, the two QBs combined for 5,492 yards in the air. Faulk, meanwhile, scored 28 touchdowns; he ran for 1,359 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry; he also caught 81 passes for 830 yards, averaging 10.2 yards a catch. Wide receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce each caught 80-plus passes.
The key here is the Rams' 2000 offense remained great despite Warner's injury and despite the fact every NFL defense knew what was coming. "The Rams created a mystique last year with how explosive they were," said Panthers safety Eugene Robinson late in the season. "Their defense could give up 35 points, and they'd put up 50 points. Everybody was like, 'Oh, man, they're the greatest thing since sliced bread.' Rightfully so. Now, all you need to do is have a very good defense, play sound ball, keep things in front, and don't give up the big play.

I know the Vikings didn't win the Superbowl in 1998 cuz of a missed field goal by Gary Anderson in the NFC Championship game against the Falcons...
But they definetely had the best offense of all time
---
Randy Moss - Best WR rookie EVER... Was the biggest threat in the NFL after his first game
Cris Carter - 2nd Best WR of all time to Jerry Rice in terms of TDs
Jake Reed - A very solid 3rd string WR
Randall Cunningham - A mobile quarterback who had one of the best deep balls in the game
Robert Smith - The best white running back ever to play in the NFL within the last 10 years atleast
Leroy Hoard - A very good goalline back
Andrew Glover - A solid TE
They had a very good o-line as well in Matt Birk, David Dixon, Korey Stringer, Chris Liewinski & Todd Steussie
---
The 98 Vikings set a record for most points in a season at 556
and biggest differential at 260
---
If they would have won the Superbowl... They would be known as the greatest offense of all-time by EVERYBODY
But because they didn't and the Rams did...
The Rams will always be known as the greatest show on turf, which is truely unfair...
---
P.S. How on earth do you have the 98 Broncos offense ahead of the Vikings?
Just cuz they won the Superbowl?
Pfft...

How about some love for the 1994 49ers team. They averaged more than 43 points a game in the post season that year, finishing the regular season just under 32 points per game. An offense that featured Steve Young, Jerry Rice, Ricky Waters (occasionally Neon Deion Sanders) and a phenomonal offensive line, they would be my pick!

92 Cowboys. Hands down. Soon to have the triplets as all Hall of Famers, and dont forget one of them is the all time leading rusher. And if it hadnt been for Leon Lett. they would have had the most points in a Super Bowl. I belive the 92 Bills D was better than the 89 Broncos D.My opinion.

Gotta be the 00 Rams. They carried that team to a Super Bowl win with the worst defense in the league. Granted, the D made the BIG PLAY (the tackle at the 1 in the SB) but still...

what about the 89-94 Bills lead by Jim Kelly and his no huddle offense? It was good enough to get them to appear in 4 stait superbowls.
