Alot of people approach the world of and the ideas and theories of phsycology, based on the promise of a secure,or financially rewarding career...In college, when it comes time to"pick a major"or maybe ,finding out that they cant hack it in med school......This is unfortunate...I believe that the desire to pursue a career in the phsych Field should stem from a true "deep seated"longing to help people who are mentally less fortunate than the rest of us...Once the education is acquired, with the understanding that we chose this Field to do good things,,it should follow that we could be truly successful in any endeavor we pursue in this Field.......I would say that the"human interest" approach, interests me most,,there just aren't enough people around who REALLY do care.

I think if you pick any one approach you have limited your scope too much.. I prefer the eclectic approach :)
Though it's not an approach.. my greatest interests in psychology are with abnormal psychology and perception.
As far as true approaches go.. I find behaviorism fascinating.

Definitely not the one that is applied in academia today, or one that uses experiments with animals to come to conclusions about human beings (as if we were nothing but animals that act in accordance with the principles of associationism, ignoring the fact that humans have the unique ability to grasp concepts and make moral decisions that animals cannot).
There are valid psychological principals that apply to the human mind, but so much psychological work today is merely ideology that masquerades as science, and a disguised personal system of philosophy that is presented as objective fact.

The human mind.
One thought. That's all it takes, at least in my mind.
One thought and 1000 more spring up in under a second.
Thats amazing.
One smell a thousand memories of times before.
There is never a time the mind is not working. The human mind can do thinks like emotions. Just think of how complex our minds are to feel on a different level, love, pain, happy, sad, and so on.
The mind can problem solve. Just think of how complex are movements are. Some how the mind knows. The left hand goes up. You don't even need to think that, it just happens. Something as simple as typing. Think about it. The keyboard is more or less apart of you. You think a word, your mind translates that in to what fingers to move when. Then the word comes up on the screen.
Its puts me in awe ever time I think about it.

yes of course, but what IS normal? (really)
I like to talk to people , watch reactions.( Not that I'd do anything to get a reaction) but people are my species. And I like to know just how we tick!
Besides, people all ways( blow my mind) everyday!!
(please excuse my spelling)

How are you feeling about?? we have to ask a question that will begin the conversation. Yes or no questions will lead you nowhere.
