University-if you want to add musical instruments, expand on the jobs and careers field and are a university student.
Nightlife-great, introduces a lot to the game as far as relationships and personal aspects go. You can get cars as welll.
Open for bussiness-allows you to open your own bussiness.
Seasons-great, expands on the game and adds seasons.
Pets-allows to have and raise pets and they can have babies as well.

I would definitely go with "Pets", it really adds to the lifelike quality of the game.

i would rather get them in this order
seasons,nightlife,university,pets,then Open for business

i have superstar it pretty cool but hard work with it you get pets also and that is fun
