Federer's finally going to take it this year.

Among men, I will pick Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer. As Marat Safin said, the players to feature in the final are very much predictable but who will win the title can't be said. I will, however, go with Rafael. They may face some challenge from Novak, Tommy Robredo, Mikhail Youzhny, Nikolay Davydenko, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Lleyton Hewitt, but none of these players really seems to possess the game to topple the fantastic two.

Among women, it's a lot more difficult job to predict. Justine has certainly not been her best in the first two rounds (6-4 6-3 and 7-5 6-1 wins), given that she has blown away much better players like Mary Pierce and Kim Clijsters with a far more humiliating scoreline. Still, she stays as my pick. The other potentials are Svetlana Kuznetsova (she really looked like trying to prove something yesterday), Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic. It's really annoying that the papers still put Maria Sharapova as a potential contender for the title ("Maria leads Russian bandwagon with comfortable win" and all that).

I think Rafa can win this one still. In a way I'm glad he lost before the French open so at least he doesn't have that pressure of protecting his streak looming above him. I think the reason he is so successful is that he just plays for the moment. He's not thinking about what happened before or what's going to happen in the future. Only the people around him and the media seem to create the pressure for him. He's one of those players who can lose and win the next game. He doesn't dwell in the past. Some people can that's why they keep loosing after missing a point or something. I think mentally, Nadal is one of the strongest.

Both are at the top of my favourite players list, so I'm glad both of them are 1-2.

I would like to see Rafael win and continue his streak since he is the clay king of this time, but I would like to see Roger win the French Open because he is a legend in the making and the most complete player in a long time. A player like him is meant to win all grand slams.

Besides me hoping for Roger with an edge, I think he is looking good on the clay anyways, and this should help him.

Just for added thoughts, for the women I pick Justine. Just like my thoughts on Roger, I pick Justine because she's my favourite but also she just has the game and is a true champion.

If Roger Federer can avoid an early knock . . . then I'd give it to him because of his previous clay win against Rafael Nadal. Otherwise its a no brain Nadal call.

Mexi's answer is the top same as mine and that i could trust each thing he says on the subject of the excuses why those particular gamers could win. the only concern i could upload Stosur to that record even nevertheless she is on a poor streak and likewise Svetlana Kuznetsova. they have finished video games and have extremely some version, capacity and sturdy serves and while their video games are working nicely i myself think of they are okay suited to clay. regardless of the reality that, i think of the two Wozniacki or Jankovic may be the favourites through fact they are so consistent on clay and you will just about assume what you will get from them, yet you by no capacity be conscious of with gamers like Stosur, Kuznetsova and Schiavone in the event that they are taking part of their proper tennis. So my record for the favourites for the call could be so as: a million.Jelena Jankovic - She has come so close interior the previous 5 years or so and that i think of it incredibly is her actual threat and that i individually could like to work out her elevate the trophy. 2.Caroline Wozniacki - She is the proper participant interior the international and is getting closer and closer to winning a substantial, this could be her super threat if she retains enjoying nicely on the clay. 3.Svetlana Kuznetsova - Has the sport for clay, yet you by no capacity be conscious of together with her form, must be sturdy or undesirable. 4.Samantha Stosur - On a terrible streak. If she would be able to get her French Open overall performance of ultimate three hundred and sixty 5 days i think of she would be able to incredibly win if she remains stable mentally, yet i'm undecided if she would be able to be waiting to show her undesirable form around on time. 5.Azarenka/Schiavone - even nevertheless Azarenka is on a competent streak i don't likely fancy her possibilities on clay through fact i think of her undesirable circulate is obviously obtrusive. Schiavone ought to possibly reason an upset yet i'm undecided if she has sufficient to incredibly elevate yet another substantial. Any participant ought to incredibly win. it incredibly is the main open draw ever and positively one of those gamers has to step as much as the plate and take their threat to win a substantial. i can not wait even nevertheless i'm actually gutted that Kim will withdraw, I scent retirement :(

i hope federer takes the title this time and goes on to win a real grand slam by taking his 5th wimbledon & 4th u.s. open titles. he deserves it.

i think federer has a chance this time round, especially after receiving that confidence booster in the hamburg masters.

nadal will obviously remain a strong contender for the title but i think federer has figured out nadal's game.

FEDERER IS BETTERER!!!!
