In America everybody is Irish on St. Pattys day.
Mexican on Cinco de mayo,etc.
But to be honest America is so diverse(english, french irish,
spanish,mexican,black,native american,oriental,etc.)
Nobody really knows what thay are.
Just because you have an irish sir name doesent make you irish In my eyes, That is if you live in the melting pot.(U.S.A.)

In America, know one is really native to America except Native American Indians, and so we Identify ourselves by our ancestors' cultures. However, I for instance, call myself American, but when asked I say I'm a quarter Irish, a quarter Mexican, and 1/2 welsh, because of the subculture element in America. I can therefore apply to certain head-rights associated with my ancestors. An example would be when affirmative action was enforced, my mother was counted as Latina heritage instead of European descent so her employers would not get in trouble for hiring primarily European Americans. I could also apply for scholarships for Irish Americans, etc.
But isn't this true in other countries? I mean how did Hitler persecute the Jews in Europe? They called themselves Jewish even though they had citizenship in various European countries---what's the difference?

you have got a relative (i.e, a grandparent) it is finished blooded, born in eire, and you'd be Irish. through fact the nationality would be handed on your mom or dad, then once you're born, you have got the nationally. i became born in united statesa., my grandpa became born in united statesa., his kin the place born in eire, and because i'm the blood relative, I certainly have the Irish nationality, yet basically like an exceptionally small volume.

Let them laugh. Most of us have a mixed genetic history and what is wrong with being happy to be of Irish descent?
Get stuffed.
