I highly doubt it. They can whenever they want but usually not until they are at least 2 years old. They aren't sexually mature until they are 5 years old either so don't expect any eggs for a long time.

They can start courting early, but won't mate until about 4" long/4 years old.

Besides mating behaviors, this could also be early aggression, which would probably indicate a small tank!
