i got rid of all of it on my new HP and did a spyware scan, am i still better off just doing a clean install of XP just to make sure i get the best experience?

well my benches on my graphics card went down, just making sure. and yes this has XP Media Center.

and i'd be using a regular Windows XP cd. (this one didn't even come with a cd just a stupid partition) and my benches for 3dmark are quite low compared to what they should be.

If you got rid of all the trial software and "bloatware", methinks a clean install would just fetch it back and you'd have to remove (at least some of) the stuff again...

Since I removed trashed dug out wheedled dredged etc. all my bloatware, I've had no problem whatsoever. I say this with confidence, and it's unfortunate, because (through no fault of the software whatsoever) my HP overheated twice this past year and I had to rebuild the OS twice and re-install all the user-ap software (grrr...)

I don't see any reason to re-install XP right now....unless you bought the machine with Vista...then I highly recommend it!!

Eh if you'd like, but if there alot of files you don't want to back up or too lazy, I'd think you're all set.
