3a - 4 + a + 6 = 4a + 2

-3m + 1 - 2m - 6 = -5m - 5

I do not see any relation with Chemistry but anyway:

(3a+a) = (6+4)
4a = 10
a = 10/4 = 5/2 = 2.5

(-3m -2m) = (6-1)
-5m = 5
m = -1
