My router promps me for a password, I dont recall entering one. Is there anyway I can set it back to factory settings so that I can set it up and go wireless? Its a wrt54gv5 model

If the default username and password does not work, try admin for the username and leave the password field blank, then you can reset your router to its factory defaults by following the instructions below. But note that all settings will be set back to its factory defaults and you will loose your internet connection until you reconfigure the router.

-Push in the small reset button on the back of the router and count to 10.
-Unplug the power from the router and count to 10
-Plug the power back into the router and count to 10 one final time and let go of the reset button.

That will set everything back to factory defaults.

It should have a password admin, password or just be empty. If it has been set differently you need to re-set it using the tiny pinhole switch on the back of the router. This will clear all the settings, so you will need to re-enter all the details.

it will use either admin or password as the default password
