Somehow conservatives think Liberal is a insult or that is the way to attack.
Everyone has priorities when they look at candidates and no one running will ever be in line with all you believe in.
I guess you can call me a Liberal but here is what I want
Term Limits
Eliminate all lobbyists
Have regulations on the healthcare system. ( can't be denied for pre-existing conditions, reduction in medication costs, limit lawsuits, have doctors make decisions not a paper pusher )
Break up the oil companies so there are no more billion dollar profits at the people's expense.
Spend more money on the care of our military people
Rebuild the middle class ( no more outsourcing jobs, no more 50 million dollar bonus to the ceo's then laying off 20,000 workers)
Have a real trade policy, get tough on China
No Amnesty, No illegal immigration
Is this Liberal ?

Broadly, liberals believe in social change, equality and individual rights, whereas conservatives believe in stability, the status quo and powerful organisations such as big business.
Therefore it may be surmised that most liberals believe in gay marriage and abortion as they are individual rights, higher taxes as they support the poor and regulation of powerful organisations such as the corporation, the state and the church.
However, like many political beliefs, individuals will differ.
I hope this answer isn't quite as partisan as some of the others...

Ahhhh.....such an impressive display of conservative troll slurs. I would expect no less in this forum.
You asked them to check their insults at the door and see what you get?
What do I believe in?
- Live and let live.
- Universal access to contraception and responsible, comprehensive teen sex education.
- Keeping religion in the home, the church and parochial school, and out of politics and public schools.
- Universal health care.
- Courses in successful relationships before granting a marriage license.

I believe in equal pay for equal work. I believe in a woman's right to choose. I believe in the Constitution of the United States and all it's amendments. I believe in the Bill of Rights as a just and fair observation on the rights of man to live free of oppression. I believe in equal opportunity under the law. I believe it is my right to question authority, and to demand accountability on the part of elected officials at all levels - including demanding the President of the United States answer for his illegal behavior, ESPECIALLY in time of war! I believe that all young men and women who are citizens of the United States should be compelled to serve their country for a minimum of two years, either in the Armed Forces or in civil projects such as building schools and hospitals, helping care for disadvantaged children and the elderly and learning to be contributing members of society. I served ten years in the United States Army and am a proud member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and an associate member of the Marine Corps League.
That's some of what this liberal believes in! And you?

There's no set of rules. Liberals have all different beliefs. For instance, most people assume that liberals are against the death penalty. I am a liberal and I am pro-death penalty. There's no one standard. I think that's why conservatives are infuriated by us. They don't understand how we can identify with one another if we don't hold exactly the same beliefs.

Liberals believe that government should make rules governing what goes on in corporate boardrooms and stay out of private bedrooms.
Conservatives believe just the opposite.

I think the core liberal belief is egalitarianism - that for the world to be a just and good place, all people must be exactly equal in all ways.
