Concentrate on your math skills and your language skills. Astronauts are public figures who work in extremely dangerous jobs and it is imperative that they communicate not just clearly, but precisely and without error. In addition to that, Astronauts are often "general-purpose geniuses" - meaning they have a wide variety of technical abilities from different fields.
This is true of the pilots as well, who have all those abilities in addition to being a pilot.
Your best bet is not to decide "I want to be this", but to focus on specific abilities. A good education is required for many fields and you may find something that interests you right here on Earth. If you were too focused on the goal of being an astronaut, you might miss out on other opportunities. Take science and math classes and do the best you can... this will give you many opportunities. NASA is a super-small portion of the American workforce... you don't want to limit yourself to that tiny little market... you want to be able to get a job after college, and the chance of getting a NASA job improves along with your general chances of getting a scientific job anywhere else. Don't focus on the goal in this case. Or change the goal to "be the best science geek I can be" - that way if you don't get into NASA you will still be able to find work in your field of interest.
The absolute truth on this subject is of course, straight from the horse's mouth:

There are a number of ways to become an astronaut. All of them involve higher education, typically in the sciences.
You can apply as a civilian or through the military space program.
To get more information go to http://www.nasa.gov
You can contact NASA and they'll probably send you a video telling you all about how to become an astronaut.

Study every Advanced Placement class you can in school, and graduate as valedictorian or salutatorian. Take the challenging classes and college, and major in aviation engineering, medicine, astroscience, or some field that NASA wants. You'll need at least a master's degree, probably a Ph.D to submit your name. And then while you're waiting for them to discover you, work 90 hours a week and become the very best person in your field.
Then you might have a shot at it.

Why would you want to become an astronaut? Those people are always up in the air about something.Ha! Just teasing. It would help to first learn how to spell 'astronaut'! It takes lots and lots of study in various fields of science, and lots and lots more of the necessary mathematics!!!
You need lots and lots of college and skills to be an astronaut or cosmonaut. Just getting into the Air Force after High School. assuming you have to necessary GRADES it takes to get in there, is NO guarantee at you will someday be hand picked by NASA to become one of their 'Right Stuff' high monkety monk astronauts!!!
My suggestion is to be the greatest of the greatest and that is a wife and mother!!! God has eternal blessings and rewards for ALL those wives and mothers, that will be remembered for ALL of eternity!!! Who the 'blank' remembers who the third person was to walk on the Moon?! Get the picture?! Who was Charles P. 'pete' Conrad. Yes, and even I had to look it up just now!!! But God will make sure that mommies are remembered for all of eternity!!! And it's a much safer occupation too.
