Your body releases adrenaline (epinephrine) naturally when your body thinks it's in a stressful or abnormal situation or when you get anxious. It releases from your adrenal glands, which sit right on top of your kidneys, which would explain the roller coaster feeling you're getting. You know how you get butterflies when you think about someone you like? It's the same concept.
