The first one is harder to predict. Some other symptoms that might help you out:
~ moderate weight gain and feeling "bloated" around your tummy
~ increase in fluid discharge down there (although if the fluid is discolored or has a foul oder that can indicate an infection)
~feeling tired
Unfortunately a lot of these symptoms are associated with the normal adolescent time so it might not mean you're getting your period yet!
The good thing is most women who get their period for the first time experience spotting at first... that means it is so light that you are likely to notice a pink color on the toilet paper before the flow is heavy enough to cause any embarassment or accident...
Good luck and hey, congrats on becoming a woman!

It is impossible to predict exactly when you will get your first period. Many girls and women can't even predict when they will get a period even after many years of menstruating. Acne and breast development definitely mean that you have started puberty, so your period may arrive soon or it may take awhile. Some girls start younger than you and some girls start later, sometimes as late as 16. If you are worried you will be caught unprepared, ask a friend or your Mom or sister for a pad. You can carry it in your purse or bookbag, just in case.

Bless you child for being anxious, you will wish you wouldn't have ever gotten once it arrives for LIFE...

Cramping in your lower abdomen or lower back area is a sign, tender breasts is another sign.

No one on earth can tell you when you're going to get it, it simply arrives when your body is ready. Just be sure to carry a pad with you at all times and if it does arrive at an unexpected place you'll at least be prepared.

These are definite signs. Keep a pad with you when you are at school or out with friends.
