There really isn't a liberal (or conservative, for that matter) monopoly on the media. Period.
Please stop propelling this myth because it has no basis in reality.
The fact is Mega Corporations own and monopolize the NEWS and media, two seperate things that for too long now are treated as one and the same.
The responsbility of the press and journalism has turned into "the news business" and so long as the news are profit centers who's sole objective is ratings and ad revenue, we're stuck with what we have.
The deeper issue isn't which way they lean; it's how to get rid of all the trivial crap that litters the news cycle and replace it with none-baised, straight journalism. Keep the opinion makers (journalists in disguise) to hours where they don't conflate news with opinion (preferrably at 3-4am any time zone) and cause the least harm to issues that require focus and serious consideration -
Sorry Paris, et. al. That's what E-News is for!

The most bias televised News source in the US according to the majority of the world is Fox News.Fox news you might as well call the Bush puppet. If there was a liberal monopoly in the press you would not have had 3 of the last 4 presidents be republican.Americans are stupid and easily manipulated by what they see and hear on TV so if the media was 90 % liberal as many have claimed for years then liberals would be getting 90% of the vote because the people would have been conned with alot of lies and false information.I can see though where a republican could watch fox news and then think every other balanced news source is liberal becuase its tough to go from a station that very biasedly agrees with all your views and then have to deal with one that disagrees with you on some occaions.Fair and balanced news to most people is a news source that tells you everything you want to hear and believe which is why republicans stay glued to fox news and think everything else is liberal propoganda.
I am sure that will infuriate lots of republicans who will vote agaisnt me and say it isn't true but next time you tune into the news what channel is it? Fox news, ahh just as i suspected lol.I think both political parties are a joke but the republicans are a little worse because their supporters are bigger hypocrites (complaining about Clinton's extra marital affairs while having no problem with a guy who lies to the people to get us in a war that has cost billions of dollars not to mention many lives). They can call Hillary a socialist but are outraged when you call bush a communist for scaling back democracy with illegal wiretapping of any one he sees fit (something the soviets were well known for doing to their citizens during the cold war). They complain about tax payers dollars going to the poor in our coutnry but don't mind trillions of our dollars going to the poor over seas in the Middle East and Africa. And the best laugh of all, they call Fox news fair and balanced and think everything else is liberal trash.
Democrats annoy me but republicans are just a complete joke. The only time i even pay attention to what a republican has to say is when i am really bored and need a good laugh to lift my spirits.

I thought that is what talk radio and the internet were about. Check the ratings, and the circurlation for all you named and compare it to 1980. All except CNN are down (CNN was just starting still 600,000 viewers out of a total population of 300 million doesn't bother me). Why do you think all of the above hate talk radio and bloggers, it takes money from them and reduces their influence. I do not stress over those guys.

The existence of a Liberal Media is one of the great lies of our time. There is no such thing. The media is owned by an ever-decreasing list of corporations. Newscorp, Clear Channel, Liberty Media, GE, Disney own the bulk of this nation's broadcast outlets. They're about as liberal as Dick Chaney.

There has never been a liberal monopoly, or even a liberal edge, to the U.S. media. Ever. There were always more Republican newspapers than Democratic ones, and they were open about it. TV news departments are corporate-run and therefore pro-business. This myth of the liberal media came during the Nixon years, and it was a lie then, and it's a lie now. Get over it.

No, the Libs will rule T.V. news, They are crafty at editing their bias into it.
The conservatives dominate the radio. The reason is simple, even with the fortune George Soros dumped into Air America, they couldn't come up with anyone to run their shows that made ANY sense at all.
Leave it alone and we have a chance to hear BOTH sides of the issues by tuning in both sources at different times.
Put the power of law, politics, and the ACLU into the mix and I guarantee it will be screwed up so bad you will never again have a chance to hear both sides of any issue.
Everything would be "balanced" by the choices made by the appointed editorial staff.

Like fox?
"The idea that the mainstream media have a "liberal bias" has long been conventional wisdom.- But the assertion is based on remarkably little evidence and is repeatedly made in the face of contradictory facts."
-Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting
...because you disagree with the news, doesn't mean it is bias.

Don't forget Fox news. They're just to the left of moderate. The only major news outlets for conservatives are on AM radio.
