I don't think the Declaration of Independence...the United States Constitution makes neo-cons nervous....any more

They destroyed the Declaration of Independence, our Constitution....and they did so in the name of unwavering patriotism and their rotten to the core followers were glad for it

You see the posts from the conservatives

There's no truth in these people...they are terrible Americans and awful human beings. The Constitution....they don't give a rats ***....they hold these truths to be self evident.....
1. Thinking is a liberal plot to weaken America
2. Unrestrained greed is the American Way
3. Never question authority..worship it

Now it's time for some neutral sheep to question why "conservatives and liberals can't get along"

The sheer idiocy of the Lib making this assertion, is astounding.

It is the lib that wants to INCREASE the size of government. It is the lib that wants to CONTROL the lives of man, giving man "his" narrow idea of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
It is the lib that wants to STEAL from the citizen all things monetary, under the auspices of fairness.
It is the lib that touts "something must be done!" when a human being acts like a donkey.
It is the lib that would REGULATE all we say and hear and see!

How can you advocate the Socialist doctrine then turn around and say you uphold the Declaration? The Declaration benefits all, not any one group. You would have me believe that some groups are more special and deserve more protection and recourse of law that everyone else.

Socialism is an insidious viral parasite that once it takes hold, will kill the host, our nation.

Why don't you help me out, Sparky? Be more specific in your question so I can explain where your implied assumptions are wrong. Neoconservative dogma seems mostly centered on economic policy as it relates to taxes and foreign policy. I've done some research and it's difficult to find a consistent definition of neoconservatism. Suffice it to say, it has nothing to do with the Declaration of Independence.

No place in the Declaration does it say- free food, free social services, take from the working class, give to the unemployed/unwilling to work class, provide gov't health care, etc, etc. The men who wrote this had a clear understanding of personal responsibility, self determination, and that gov't should not exploit its people. I would say the signers of the Declaration of Independence would be appalled to see the entitlement society that the US has become.

So I end with, what's your point?

But your pursuit of happiness can not restrict me from pursuing happiness and either one of our ambitions can not restrict any individual else from gaining happiness both. This signifies that there are, of necessity, average limits upon pursuit of happiness. God does no longer ship any individual anyplace. Your offerings are what condemn you to an eternity of ache and soreness, or an eternity of lifestyles within the presence of God. Can't blame God for the reason that individuals are tremendously brief-sighted whilst making offerings in lifestyles. I am conservative, and I think the Declaration is brilliant. Revolutionary history is one of my great interests. Did you know that there were 5 men on the committee to write the Declaration? Jefferson is not the only one who wrote it. John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Livingston and Roger Sherman all helped write it. It is one of the most significant documents in American History, and I revere the principles it was written on, and think it is still relevent today.

Doesn't make me uncomfortable at all, but then I'm a full blooded Conservative and always have been. You should look into your facts that seem to be giving you concern a little deeper and you will see why we don't see this as an issue.

Um, conservatives are for a smaller, less powerful centralized government. Liberals want a powerful, highly centralized federal government to redistribute wealth via taxes. Sorry, nothing herein makes conservatives nervous

Cons don't hate it..we live by it...Libs want to change everything without a clue as to how it will affect their fellow man. The majority in this country are Cons...so how have we not lived up to this? Is it because we haven't caved in to the minority? read it again with open eyes...

The Declaration of Independence is a cherished document, the concepts within are wise and timeless.

Where do you get your false conclusion that the "neo-cons" you despise, are uneasy with the document?
