As long as you're being polite, I don't really care. I consider myself a gay grrl, or queer. But gay or homosexual are fine too. I don't like the word lesbian only because it sounds funny to me.

I prefer gay. Usually when I hear the word "homosexual" it's from some right-wing group, or in the context of an anti-gay rant, so I've grown to associate it with slander.

I prefer to be called by my name, but if labels are important, then gay is fine. Homosexual is just to dang long of word to use. Most of us accept the term gay.

but in the Russian language the word "gay" means homosexual male, so I just have to do with "lesbian"

Im a lesbian but I dont mind being referred to as homosexual, gay, queer, femme, dyke, etc. Pretty much anything works for me... cuz Im all secure in my sexuality, you know.
The DONTS would be:
lez, lesbo, homo, clam bumper...

hmm i dont really care what im called actually. Ppl at school call me a fag and i dont take any offense to it. I call myself a fag sumtimes 2. I accept that i am a so called fag. lol sorry i know this didn't really answer your question.
