WE SHOULD ALL EMAIL THE CIVIL SERVICE TO EXPRESS OUR DISAPPROVAL and maybe even Downing Street! What an earth has he done to deserve a knighthood - change his hairstyle every month? Ponce around with this fame hungry wife attempting to find new ways to accumulate wealth???
Here are the website addresses:

Where did the London Evening Standard get their information? The offering of a knighthood is very secret, and as far as I can remember no one who allowed their `secret` to be leaked, has actually received such a knighthood. Perhaps someone is deliberately sabotaging Beckhams` chances? In any case he is a most unworthy candidate.

If you look at most of the footballing knights, it wasn't just their success, it was their ambassadorial nature. Think of Sir Stanley Matthews, Sir Alf Ramsey, Sir Geoff Hurst, Sir Bobby Robson, Sir Bobby Charlton.
All great contributors to football, in terms of fair play and gentlemanly qualities.
Then it all went out the window with Sir Alex Ferguson - a man of great achievement, no doubt, but a petulant, 'win-at-all-costs' merchant.
David Beckham, while not being the most articulate of players, has captained his country, has avoided controversy (apart from the sending off in 1998) and has been a good ambassador for football. A great? In the same mould as Charlton, Matthews, Moore? I don't think so.
But if Ferguson is worth a knighthood, I don't see why we should begrudge Beckham. Personally, I think neither of them are.

The thought makes my gorge rise and my blood pressure soar. But Blair always confused fame with ability, money with merit and cheating/adultery as suitable attributes for his deputy, so why not for the Beckham ball boy?
It could be a very fitting memorial for our venal PM to honour our equally venal ex- Engalnd football captain.

For services to what. He's not lead England to any achievements, whereas Flintoff lead us to win the ashes and he didn't get a knighthood.
Oh just remembered, he played for Man U which automatically gets you a knighthood for the least thing.
Alex Ferguson 1 Champions Cup Knighted
Bob Paisley 4 Champions Cups sod all ?
P.S. I'm not a scouser!

I think there would be a lot more deserving than him....and can you imagine Lady beckham???? It ls bad enough now as she thinks she is Queen B!!!!!!!
I'd like to see knighthoods going to people that have done something brave....not kicked a ball about and missed so many times recently!!!!!

What for - he hasn't done anything fantastic for his country - all he does is play a game (and whatever posh wants!) & earns big money for it. I know I'm only jealous but I think there are people who deserve it a lot more that Becks.

He has so much wealth he could probably buy a knight hood. It does not matter that he is so wealthy but it is a shame when the more you aquire the more you inspire.
