Such as standing up against the IRS. Getting rid of the "two party system"? Similar to what is happening in Venezuala?

So as to no take this as an incite, I am curiouse as to what the "final line in the sand" is for Americans. Is it high taxes? No guns? No T.V.? What is it that would incite a riot.

You know what? As bad as things seem sometimes, it takes a question like yours for us to step back, look at the big picture, and realize that things really aren't so bad here.

We pay taxes and vote for who makes the law and controls local governments. We have rights that are enforced. We have laws everyone must follow.

Overall, there is still no question the system we have in place does work better than any other system that's been tried. Until they come up with a better idea, and the majority of people vote it into being, we're going to stick with what we've got.

Term limits mean things change, so there's no need to revolt. Just suffer with it for awhile, and make sure to vote for change the next chance you get. It's the American way.

I don't think in my lifetime we will ever do anything like Venezuala.. but I do think if we had another 4 years under a president that was similar to Bush you would start to see more protests and vocalization from the American people.

Edit: What would incite a revolution of the people against the state? it would take a president standing up and saying "Ok, I'm taking over everything.. I'm king now" basically.. taking away our vote.. because on the day we vote.. that is the only day we the people truly rule this nation... take that away.. then you would see a new government within 20 years.. and probably much sooner.

Will Americans Revolt

For a few reasons, 1) Things are nowhere near bad enough to justify a revolution and a coup. 2) Revolting against the government would lead to some very dark times for America in the future as ultra right or left wingers would probably take control. 3) If citizens revolted against their governments for what they were doing in other countries in the name of commerce, all of the major powers in Europe and Asia would be in constant chaos.

I think it will one day happen. The only problem with that is when someone speaks against the government and tries to be elected they will kill them. I just dont like how they take our money away every chance they get. They have us vote for money for roads and schools and other things. But when it comes to more taxes or money for the government there is no vote they just take it from us thats bullshit. And we give approx 35 BILLION every year to other countries that is crazy we all work hard for our money **** giving it to other countries. How about giving it back to us so we can properly support our families not other countrie familys. And nobody in congress cares because they get money hand over fist they have no worries there all crooks and steal our money constantly. So i do believe a revolt is coming because the american people are going to get fed up the problem is most people dont know what the government is doing to us and what the hide

Americans have continuous 'revolution'. Every election cycle is a revolution. Generally political parties and factions within those parties push an agenda in response to a perceived problem. This is a good thing. The problem arises in that 'problems' tend to be dynamic...that is, they change over time. By the time a 'solution' to a problem is implemented, the 'problem' has changed shape, color and dimension. At that point party 'a' views with alarm while party 'b' points with pride. Then comes the 'revolution'...the people vote. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't, but over time things average out. Be patient...even this Bush Junta and their crackpot policies will eventually have to face the voters..personally, I can't wait!

And go commie? Revolution is an impotent solution with a guarantee of worsening. The same animals that were in strategic places will remain there.

Look at Cuba for confirmation.

I'm confident, though. Something is on the way to eradicate what is hateful. Not just in this burg but all over. Wouldn't want to be one of those tongue lolling deadbeats or some punk on VLF.

If we elect Hilary, you can pretty much kiss the two party system in the U.S. goodbye. It will be pretty much like what has been done in Venezuela. In essence, government takeover of private industry----they won't call it that but with price control, taxation, heatlh and welfare benefits, and other controls over business activities that's what it will amount to.

Of course, you'll see passage of "The Fairness Doctrine". That will end any dissent with the liberals. And election laws will be changed---to the benefit of liberals.

She won't get rid of the IRS, though. That's how you control things and redistribute wealth----take from the rich and give some to the poor.

As far as revolt against the government----why don't you go ahead and start it. Once I see how it's going I may join in.later.

There is a revolution every couple of years. We do it during elections. If the americans really wanted to do away with those things then they can vote someone in who will represent them. I have never heard of a large group of voters demanding the removal of the IRS or the two party system.

This again? First, revolt is happening in Venezuela because Chavez is showing them who he realize is, which is basically a clone of Castro. How they figured he wouldn't do what he's doing is beyond me. Second, do you realize that advocating revolution against the US is a federal offense? If "Big Brother" IS watching, like so many libs say he is, you're going to get a knock on the door from the FBI sometime today.
