Chances are he'll be OK. But CHANGE HIS WATER ASAP - ALL OF IT! Also wash the sand and everything at the bottom of the tank, incl. toys etc, in clear 'warm to the touch' water. Then (if he's a freshwater fish), watch out for fungal growth on his fins and/or tail If this occurs, dissolve some salt in hot water in a one 1ltr olive oil bottle (very clean of course, bottle must be thoroughly clean, and as much salt as will dissolve - adjust size of this bottle to size of tank) and add this salt water to his tank. Provided it's a regular tank and not a pond, this size bottle should be ideal! Leave him in this for an hour or two (no more than two hours) and then return him to fresh water. He should be OK and the fungus should clear up in about 2 or 3 days. If not, repeat treatment or ask at your local pet shop.
PS. Make sure the salt water is at about the right temp when added!

just do a large water change 50 pct and each day 25 pct for about a week, your biggest concern is the effect it may actually have on the filter you will have to monitor everything to make sure it doesnt move the pH or kill off the filter so ammonia and nitrite are a must, some chemicals can expel oxygen and co2 so you need to check the oxygen level as well. place an air stone in to maximise the gas cycle.
all you can really do is minimize the damage as your still going to need some of the water, you should not just dump it in new water it would be too sterile and just as bad.
water changes.

Your fish will probably be fine, but you may wanto to put some stress coat back into the tank when you are done cleaning it, considering that your fish has been under some stress during this ordeal. However if your fish does not make it, your local pet store will have a replacement for you as well as some advise about your tank.

Your fish should be fine if you change the water. It may be stressed due to the chemicals that got in the tank and also from the moving back and forth to different tanks. Good luck!

Change all of the water and rinse your tank out well! Put him in any container that is clean, make sure to use water conditioner, he might be stressed out a little but should be okay! Good luck!

remove it immediately even if it consist of grabbing it by hand and put it in a bucket or something with new water, it will stress the fish a little bit its better than having an explosion of chemicals in his water and obviously not good ( always labeled do not swallow ) the fish can suffocate if it swallows a bit cos it can pass trough th gill net, hurry
and hey you who commented like %&$3 dont get angry with children, if it was me at his age i would have done worse !!
