My sister is conventially pretty - normal looking, straight hair, small nose, decently proportioned face, a "pretty" girl, but nothing special. For me, it would be a stretch to call me pretty (in my opinion) but people never just look at me once - they say that I look 'striking' - my face isn't conventionally pretty - my nose isnt perfectly small, and I have a strong jaw and kinda high cheekbones, im also pretty tall - i don't look like all the identical beach blondes with their perfect noses and artificial tans. Would you rather be conventionally pretty (like my sis) or be striking looking but not match today's standard of beauty?

I used to think I had to be the beach blonde with artificial tan and nails then I realized I looked like everyone else. I so prefer to be my own beauty with my own style and own look. I feel sorry for the girls who think they have to look like everyone else or to look like Hollywood.

conventional is boring. i like my kind of beauty (sorri that sounded kinda bad). i'm half black, a quarter white and a quarter mexican. and people can rarely tell my ethnicity. it takes them a few guesses to figure out my blend. i hav bright blue green eyes with a medium skintone and full lips. i think that ther r sooo many different kinds of beautiful in all different ethinicities. i get a lotta compliments from strangers and i think that if your conventionally pretty thats cool but being a lil different yet still beautiful it really cool and kinda fun. if u dont look average u should embrace that and use it to work for u. what im saying is be confident about yor unique look( not overly confident cuz snobby people u just wanna hit in the face). make yor own standard of pretty. good luck!!

I like different kind of beauty. To give an example I never thought Julia Roberts or Cindy Crawford were that attractive to me, although I thought they were good looking. I always had a thing for Clea Duvall (a bit part actress).

I would rather be "different" and "interesting". I know so many girls who are "pretty" and no one can remember thier names. My Sweetie is very unusual looking. I never get tired of looking at him. His eyes are incredible...almond shaped.

Think about Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie...Jennifer is pretty but Angelina with her exectic features is interesting...and I would say more beautiful.

**Real beauty comes from the inside though. I think I am rather plain looking (don't tell my honey - he tells me every day I am gorgeous). But people are always attracted to me. I think it is because I smile alot because I am happy.

If you want to stand out, be happy with who you are. Be a kind person.

always be yourself and why be like everyone else when you can be so much better than everyone else. I own a modeling agency and i see pretty girls all day. But a striking girl with classic features it what i find to be pretty.

People say I'm "striking" too. I don't know if that's good or bad? I don't know. I want to look like Keira Knightley, if that helps you. Hah.
