I'm thinkin J-Rich, Ellis, and Al Harrington for Kobe. This will give L.A. a very good replacement at SG who can put on a show. Ellis is a extremely promising young player (the next Tony Parker?), and Harrington is a very solid forward. What do you guys think?

It would work salary cap wise. Also it may be the best deal the Lakers can get.

Kobe would love it. He remains in a big market in CA and would flourish in the Warrior's run and gun system. I'd love to see what Nellie could do with Kobe and Baron in the backcourt.

Of course, the Warriors would have to sign some bigs. The Warriors had trouble dealing with Utah because they were undersized -- ditching Harrington would make that problem worse. However, that's a small price to pay for the best player in the world.

First off don't read to much into the hype of Kobe leaving LA, there is no way he will leave (there isn't another market big enough out there to fit his ego) or that ownership will let him go (he fills the seats and sell to many jerseys, if not for his fetish for white girls a few years ago there is no telling how marketable he would be by now), its all probable a ploy by Kobe to try to force ownerships hand in spending some real money this off-season so that he has a chance to prove to everyone that it was him and not Shaq that won those rings (since Shaq got his already).
But since we live in a world of ifs, on paper it looks about an even trade, but much like fantasy sports it not what you give its what the other team needs. LA already got the same player in LO so there is no need for a undersized 4 in Al Harrington, Ellis is on the rise in a open run and gun system, but in a triangle offense in Phil Jackson he will struggle, so basically its J-Rich for Kobe. I like J-Rich he is a great player but not a star like Kobe nor will he fill the seats. Bottom line it would cost LA more in player salary for the three players and the loss in marketing. Hey but don't let me stop you from dreaming of a back-court of B-Diddy and Kobe.

I think that is a ridiculous trade. TRADING THOSE 3 GUYS JUST FOR ONE PLAYER IN KOBE? The Warriors are fine the way they are. Look at what they did this year. Where would they be without J-Rich and Ellis??!! And Harrington too? No way are we giving up some of the best guys on our team for Kobe.

I agree those are nice replacements, but two points:

The Lakers will NOT, I repeat- NOT trade Kobe within their division so he can punish them. If they somehow lost all higher brain functions and did this, they would at least demand Baron Davis as part of the deal.

L.A.'s celebrity fans will pay to see a superstar, not good players. You won't fill the seats at Staples Center with J-Rich and Harrington.

This would be great for the Lakers...and dumb for the Warriors. The Warriors could maybe trade J-Rich and Harrington for Kobe. But then that would be bad for the Lakers. He is staying with the Lakers

Haha good luck with that. Kobe wouldn't want to go to the Warriors anyway. He's not the type of player that likes having players like Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis on his team.

I think that would suck for the Lakers, but i would love to see Baron and kobe together, that would be a championship contenting team right there. I'm all in for it. And it would prove if Kobe can do the same as Shaq did moving to Miami and winning. It would force a lot of Kobe haters to finally shut the hell up and would put him that much closer to Jordan's stature
