Hello,
I recently purchased a used 2000 Ford Mustang. I was told it includes a remote starter, and there is a small unit with an antena on my windshield right above the mirror. There is also a sticker under the hood warning of a remote starter. I can't seem to get it to work. I have a Viper keyless entry/alarm system. I have tried every button combination i could think of on that transmitter, but to no avail. I was given no other transmitter for the remote starter. I have concluded that one was never given to the dealer. Would it be possible, and if so how much would it cost, to purchase a new transmitter for my remote starter and have it programmed for the starter already installed in my car?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes--find out what brand remote starter you have, the warning label may have the company name on it or it may be tied in with the Viper alarm---and contact a Viper dealer/installer or the remote starter company for a replacement remote and instructions to program it. There should be a control box for the remote start inside the car, like under the dash, that should have the company name on it.
