Any one question can get you no more than 60 points: 10 for a best answer, and up to 50 for 50 'thumbs-up's.

As far as total points on one account, there IS a limit, but I'd be surprised if anyone here knew what it was.

This limit is a function of how numbers are stored in computer memory. With all these accounts, they have to be using some form of standard data storage to keep track of everyone's points. And though most people are unaware of it, there does not exist a variable of unlimited size on a computer simply because computers have to allocate memory to hold variables, and the amount of memory it allocates has to be in standard units.

If they used a 'short' variable for total points, that would mean the maximum amount of points a person could get would be 65,535 (2 to the 16th power, minus 1 for zero points). Since there are people with more than that, we know they used a 'long' one instead. This has a maximum value of 4,294,967,295 (2 to the 32nd power, minus 1) in most programming formats. Nobody is likely to reach that value in a long, long time. If ever.

That's just a guess, of course. Who knows what kind of arcane software they're using? But I think it's a pretty good guess.

Peace.

To get to level 7 it is 25000 points and over.
There is no limit after that but there will be no advancing in levels beyond level 7.
