A chaise longue (French "long chair") is an upholstered couch in the shape of a chair that is long enough to support the legs.

It is often also called "chaise lounge" in North America, particularly in the furniture industry. This spelling and pronunciation has become well-established and can be found in American English dictionaries, and is an example of a folk etymology.

Note also that in modern France, the term chaise longue often refers to any long reclining chair such as a deckchair.

Yes, I read them.

I haven't created a question yet, and this question may inspire me. I wanted to see the answers to it, because I tend to write long answers and fear my work and effort is a big waste. Thank you for asking this.

BTW, unless it's really great right away, or I already know and like the writer's thinking, I tend to pass up long answers to other people's questions--had to be honest there;)

I read them. A lot of the times they just trail off. But sometimes they are the best answers!

I read everything in detail. I don't want to miss anything and if person took time to answer my question I owe it to them to read what they typed.

properly I could desire to declare if I come for the period of a protracted question whilst i'm at paintings (and not doing the paintings i'm meant to be) i do no longer tend to respond to them because of the fact my boss could desire to catch me at right here at any 2d so i admire the fast and candy ones. yet whilst i'm at living house I answer any length ones that sound interesting :)
