To guarantee competitive higher education? This is about what it would cost a family in the state of MI per year to avoid cutting funding to higher education....to give some insight into our economy, the U of M creates more jobs and more tax revenue than any other business right now, in MI. And our economy is in the dumps...so short term solutions could be applied....

Oh, I forgot to mention that the other solution would be to roll back the single business tax reform the reps made last year..the one that reduced revenue to the point that we have to discuss raising taxes on the working class...

facts have been checked, and yes, they ruled to get rid of the single business tax...sorry, but that is the truth, and they did nothing to make up for it...THAT is why we had to cut your funding for school, and THAT is why we have to cut it again...

tax money spent on higher education is repaid 100 fold

but Republicans can't think

(I was going to say can't think that far into an equation, but the sentence is more accurate as is)

so you're wasting your time trying to get them to understand that

They are too well trained to genuflect and barf out Rushisms at all attempts to help regular people

Do some investigating and have them get rid of some of the pork spending and I'll guarantee you that the money is there without increasing taxes!

michigan needs to get rid of their insanely high taxes for small businesses in order to create anything.

EDIT: check your facts. They haven't, and if that caused us to be in this situation you have got to be kidding me. first off, i am a college student who goes to a university in michigan and i just had my tuition raised by 25% from last year to this year. And its supposedly because the state has cut funding for colleges and universities. Yet, at the same time i walk around on campus and see money being blown on the stupidest things possible. I think you need to rethink this one
