It's a virus you get from a thumb drive. Here is how to fix it:

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and go to the processes tab
Look for svchost.exe under the image name. There will be many but look for the ones which have your username under the username
Press DEL to kill these files. It will give you a warning, Press Yes
Repeat for more svchost.exe files with your username and repeat. Do not kill svchost.exe with system, local service or network service!
Now open My Computer
In the address bar, type C:\heap41a and press enter. It is a hidden folder, and is not visible by default.
Delete all the files here
Now go to Start --> Run and type Regedit
Go to the menu Edit --> Find
Type "heap41a" here and press enter. You will get something like this "[winlogon] C:\heap41a\svchost.exe C:\heap(some number)\std.txt"
Select that and Press DEL. It will ask "Are you sure you wanna delete this value", click Yes
Now close the registry editor.
Now the virus is gone. But be sure to delete the autorun.inf file and any folder whose name ends with .exe in the pen drive.

Someone may have changed your homepage to some page with a script that does that. GO into your internet properties and make sure your homepage isnt some weird site. Make it Google.com or something.

Also make sure the shortcut you are using for firefox isn't some weird program with a firefox icon in disguise.

Download Spybopt search and Destroy and AdAware. Run them both in safemode as well as AVG and AVAST.

As a last resort, try uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox.

My past computer died on Internet Explorer. My computer technician told me not to use Internet Explorer. He recommended Mozilla Firefox. And I've never had any problems since.

Spyware and Maleware
You have a problem with spyware which an anti virus software application will not pick up.

So we are going to try two things to get this problem sorted.

• Spybot search & destroy

Spybot will search you system for harmful applications and files and remove them from your system. If you do not have this application downloaded then I strongly recommend that you look into it.

http://www.safer-networking.org/
Spybot Search & Destroy
The application is simple to use, and better yet free.

• Download Firefox (again)

Simply remove Firefox from you system via:

Control panel
Add / Remove programs
Firefox Remove

Then visit
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
To download the application with all updates and files.

This should resolve all issues
Cheers

Ditto the above, but, even though you (as I certainly) prefer using Firefox 99% of the time, remember to keep a copy of IE around, as SOME danged software (most notably, Microsoft stuff) is mean-spirited enough not to allow updates through ANYTHING BUT IE!

Does the warning actually say 'use internet explorer you dope' if it does it's a virus or something similar. If not check the version you are using is compatible with the computer you are using and complies wit the minimal requirements.
