it probably comes from the time when salt was a very expensive commodity, and very necassary as a preservative.

In the Bible, salt of the earth means what we are supposed to be. Those people who, like salt before refrigiration was available, preserve, cure and keep things from rotting. If we all behaved like what we are suppossed to be, we would keep the world from spoiling with so much relativism and hedonism.

A really good person. In the middle ages, salt was a precious commodity, as there were no other ways (other than smoking) to preserve food. It is a compliment.

More on that... salt was the main "spice" for food... so could also mean that Jane can't be missing since she brings flavor.

She's probably just jealous you get along with guys better than her. That definitely does not make you a tomboy. I'm a bit like you. I have more guy than girl friends yet I am a very girly person. I love make-up,girly chats and boys etc, yet I find it easier to be around boys and make friends with them than girls.
