Do the Transition Metals react with Oxygen? If so, how?

I have a Chemistry exam, can't find the answer on the internet/in my books!

All metals oxidize--they react with Oxygen.

Virtually all elements in the periodic table react with oxygen to form binary oxides, and the transition elements are no exception. The ones to watch are elements such as gold, which does not react with oxygen at all under normal circumstances.
