I guess it depends on her age and what type of books she tends to like.
Of course there are the greats like "Lord of the Flies," "To Kill a Mocking Bird," or "Catcher in the Rye."

One of the best books I read as a child was titled "The Box Car Children". I can remember getting into trouble for reading it in class, but it was so good I didn't want to put it down. When I became a mother and my daughter needed a book I suggested it and she also loved it. She is now 26 and still remembers the book and said it's the only book she ever read cover to cover. We think they made a series of them.

Not knowing how old your daughter is and what types of stories she likes, here are some books that I have enjoyed both as a child and an adult:
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
Anne Of Green Gables (series) by L.M. Montgomery
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Chronicles Of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
The Changeling Sea by Patricia McKillip
The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle by Avi
The Mermaid Summer by Mollie Hunter
Are You There God? It's Me Margaret. by Judy Blume
The Hero And The Crown by Robin McKinley
The Nancy Drew Mysteries by Carolyn Keene

Hmmm...it depends on what age your daughter is. If she's mature enough to read on most levels - well, that would make it a lot easier.
For Almost Any Age:
The Westing Game
Because of Winn-Dixie
Ages 7-9:
The Boxcar Children
The Nancy Drew series
one of the American Girl series
Ages 10-14:
The Artemis Fowl series (I looooove this series!)
The Clique (I don't really like this very much, but your daughter might...)

Well, this would depend mostly on your daughter's age, her preferred genras, and her reading level. But I would recommend the series of "The Face on the Milk Carton" by Caroline B. Cooney, because it really hooks teens and adults alike. You can find these books in a local bookstore such as Barnes and Noble, or Waldenbooks. The books in the series are as following:
1 The Face on the Milk Carton
2 Whatever Happened to Janie?
3 The Voice on the Radio
4 What Janie Found

What kind of books does she like?
Perhaps you could both trade. Give her a book that you really like (or maybe liked when you were her age if you prefer) and have her give you one that she really likes. Then you can both read what the other likes and talk about them. It is always good to find things in common when possible and what better way than sharing something you both love. Even if the other doesn't share the love for the book themselves, reading what the other one loves can give you insight into one another.
I hope that last bit makes sense.

I am not sure how old your child is. But, the series titles "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is great! You can even borrow the CD version from the library and listen as a family on road trips. The special effects and sounds are fantastic.
Good luck with everything, just find what subjects peaks her interest and go from there.

How old is she?? What kind of books does she like??
Good fantasy books for ppl most ages
-Harry Potter series (that one would depend on you, if she is under the age of 13, I recommend you read them first to see if she will be able to handle them)
-Little house on the Prairie books

What age is she? I would hate to suggest a book below or above her reading level.
